Welcome Address

Dear professors and colleagues

We are heading our fifth annual Egyptian Transplantation Society (ETS) congress with the participation of the expertise in all fields of organ transplantation. It will witness the First annual African Society of Organ Transplantation (ASOT) congress.

We are privileged to hold this conjoint congress in collaboration with The Transplantation Society (TTS), the European Society of Organ Transplantation (ESOT), the Middle East Society of Organ Transplantation (MESOT), the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF) and the International Pediatric Transplantation Association (IPTA) aiming for continuous mutual collaboration. Their support and encouragement to build up the transplantation programs in Africa is highly appreciated.

The Theme of this congress is “Challenges and updates in transplantation” where the complementary cooperation of the expertise in all fields would highlight the updated knowledge and deliver the most recent and best information in our practice.

Young fellows are encouraged to grasp the knowledge and benefit of the experience of the high standard Faculty.

Maintaining the annual nursing program is an integral activity of paramount interest with our ultimate goal of delivering the best high quality service to our patients.

It is really great to have our African colleagues sharing this event. Let us gather our wills, efforts, intensions and knowledge to explore the extent of organ failure problems in our continent. Our peoples are exposed to various environmental, demographic and health risk factors. They are as well under tough socioeconomic situations, paving the way to the high prevalence of communicable and non-communicable diseases. In the mean time, the lack of satisfactory preventive and early detection strategies with inefficient management to delay disease progression, leads to cumulative end stage organ failure.

We are looking forward for our collaboration to propagate practicing transplantation as the most efficient and valuable cost benefit replacement therapy option for organ failure. This is rarely feasible to our African peoples, and we need to bridge the unmet needs, targeting the best outcome and quality of life for our patients.

The continuous support of our companion pharmaceutical companies is mandatory for the best performance of this educational informational achievement.

This congress represents as well an important social gathering with a peculiar advertisement exhibition.

Looking forward for a fruitful and successful congress. The valuable input of all the delegates, speakers and faculty will make the difference.
Best wishes and good luck for all.

ETS / ASOT President
